Progress Update on Bootstrap 4 Quick Start
Thanks if you took the time to download a book sample and review it. I have received positive feedback which encourages me to continue. Last month Bootstrap released Alpha 6 which now embraces the flexbox grid so I a need to rework the code samples slightly to accommodate this change.
I am currently working on the Font Awesome icon cheat sheet which will show icon alternatives for all of Bootstrap 3 glyphicons. This will help those who have to perform a migration and also act as a quick reference for the most commonly used icons.
Website Updates
I recently redesigned my resources page to make it easier to find resources. I added a web design terms glossary and Bootstrap 3 Sass starter project named Sparky. This starter project is what I use for my projects and has helped me have a smooth workflow.
A Facebook group member Eric asked me to create a video tutorial series outlining my workflow customizing Bootstrap Sass. Learning Grunt, GitHub and Sass has been the hardest things for me to learn recently so I am happy to share my process do help you avoid the same frustration.
I created a 7 part video tutorial on YouTube to show absolute beginners how to install node.js, use Grunt and GitHub desktop, and then customize Bootstrap Sass. I also created a Bootstrap Sass variables reference you can print out.
Once you learn how to change a Bootstrap variable and see your browser refresh the changes… you will think you have super powers. This is my first batch of YouTube videos so please let me know what you think of the format or if improvements are needed.
